Governance for Africa convenes the dialogues that shape fiscal and governance policy in Rwanda and across the East African Community. Sustained Participation in Policy Platforms

Since 2023 GFA has taken part consistently in national and regional policy platforms, raising the level of civil society participation in governance conversations and helping ensure that community perspectives reach decision-making processes.

Regional Forums on Domestic Resource Mobilisation

Through regional forums across East Africa, GFA contributed to conversations on domestic resource mobilisation, establishing the organisation as a regional voice for accountable and inclusive fiscal governance.

National Dialogue on Taxation and the Role of Civil Society

GFA and FES Rwanda convened a national dialogue on taxation that put civil society organisations in direct conversation with policymakers. Participants set out the role citizens play in shaping fair tax systems and in strengthening domestic resource mobilisation.

Public Financial Management Forum

GFA contributed to Rwanda’s Public Financial Management forum, carrying civil society perspectives into national discussions on budget transparency and accountability. The engagement strengthened dialogue between government and non-state actors on how public resources are planned, spent and accounted for.

Governance, Accountability and Citizen Participation Dialogues

GFA organised and facilitated governance dialogues bringing together civil society organisations, public institutions, academia, development partners, and youth and women representatives. Participants examined accountability, democracy and citizen participation in decision-making and law-making, with the aim of strengthening leadership and policy dialogue across the governance sector.
